Jason Probstein resides in Asheville, NC.
Jason Probstein is known for creating traditional lampworked glass. He heats glass tubing and rod with a torch, and once in a molten state, he forms the glass by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. He uses Corning Pyrex, a strong and very durable glass.
Jason received a degree in scientific glassblowing from Salem Community College in New Jersey and has studied Venetian glass techniques at the Penland School of Crafts here in North Carolina.
Jason has performed glassblowing demonstrations at Walt Disney World, and his work can be found in museum gift shops throughout the Untied States including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and The Art Institute of Chicago.
