Description
John Geci is a distinguished glassblower based near the Penland School of Craft in Western North Carolina. Originally from Litchfield, Connecticut, he discovered his passion for glass while studying philosophy at Hartwick College in upstate New York. After earning his degree in 1994, he traveled to Penland to immerse himself in the craft, refining his skills as both a student and a studio assistant to local glassblowers.
In 2001, Geci was awarded the inaugural glass residency at EnergyXchange, an innovative small business incubator focused on sustainability. This opportunity allowed him to develop his own line of glassware, launching John Geci Glass. Since then, he has been creating vibrant, exquisitely crafted glass vessels that reflect his mastery of the medium.
