Elements Series – Water Wind Sculpture
Description
Built to generate joy, the Water Wind Sculpture is responsive to the slightest breeze yet also designed to endure gale-force winds. Handmade in Utah by Lyman Whitaker, these kinetic sculptures are revered for their aesthetic sophistication, mechanical soundness, and high-quality craftsmanship. Lyman fabricates his wind art from copper and stainless steel. As a result, his sculptures are not only beautiful but highly durable. Each sculpture spins silently on a sealed ball bearing and comes with a steel ground mount receptacle for simple installation. Display sculptures individually or in groupings to create a “wind forest.”
PLEASE NOTE that each Water Wind Sculpture is individually handmade and ships directly from the artist’s studio. Therefore, if ordering online, expect 4 to 8 weeks for delivery.
About Lyman Whitaker
Since the 1980s, Lyman Whitaker has focused his artistic ability on gracefully capturing the spirit of the wind. Considered a master in the kinetic sculpture discipline, Lyman graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Utah in 1976. There he studied under Avard Fairbanks and Angelo Carvaglia, learning classical sculpture techniques and contemporary design. The international success of Lyman’s kinetic art has allowed him to construct a well-equipped studio near Zion National Park. Together with his wife, Stacy, and his brother, John, he has built a creative partnership based on complementary talents.
